Il Grande Colibrì is a voluntary association that operates nationally and collaborates with organizations in other countries of the world. The people of the association are located in different regions of Italy. If in specific areas we have a consistent number of close people, we try to create local groups that operate continuously and constantly. We currently have three local groups in the cities of Bologna, Lecco and Piacenza.
BOLOGNA
For years, the Bolognese group of Il Grande Colibrì has been trying to expand collaborations with the formal and informal network of the local associative and institutional landscape. The group offers to newly arrived LGBTQIA people seeking asylum or beneficiaries of protection in the territory an orientation on existing services which includes as much as possible all the different aspects that make up their path of social integration. In addition, support is offered in the collection of memories for asylum seekers and accompaniment throughout the process of applying for international protection.

LECCO
In constant collaboration with the local association Renzo and Lucio and with Certi Diritti, the Lecco group of Il Grande Colibrì offers support in the collection of memories for LGBTQIA people seeking asylum and accompaniment throughout the process of applying for international protection. On a monthly basis, it organizes meetings with Renzo and Lucio for socialization, information and training (about legal, health, civic, political,…issue) for asylum seekers. In addition, it coordinates the work of creating dossiers for territorial commissions and judges.

PIACENZA
The Piacenza group of Il Grande Colibrì has developed a pilot project of support, orientation and integration dedicated to LGBTQIA migrants, winner of a call from UNHCR and Intersos in 2018: Il Nido del Colibrì. In addition to offering assistance for asylum requests, the project implements the individual and relational resources of each participant, expanding the support network and access to local services. The group also involves many people who come from neighboring regions, with an ever closer collaboration with various bodies, associations and professionals.
